Darryl Cole, Intern
Information Systems
Darryl has been interning as a Desktop Support Analyst (DSA) for the past two summers, winter breaks, and weekends during this fall semester. He is currently working towards a degree in Management Information Systems at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.
"You can do desktop support anywhere, at school or even non profit agencies. But here, the environment and the people make it different. Some of the people on my team are in my age group, so I don't have any reservations about going to them and asking for help. I know that just three or four years ago, they were in my shoes. The team members that have been around longer often give me help and advice for issues they've seen before or problems that may be more long-term in nature. Ultimately, when those two elements are coupled with the fact that as a DSA I get to work with every aspect of Babson Capital's business, I grow in both corporate and practical knowledge everyday. "
Darryl originally thought about majoring in actuarial science, but his experience as a DSA at Babson Capital changed that. His advice to college students and prospective interns, "If you really know what you want, go for it! But also be open to different internships or work experiences...you may find something you like even better."
